Conference on Clusters and Global Competitiveness Comes to Portland in October!

Rural economic development and sustainability will be two of the primary
topics of discussion at a once-in-a-lifetime international conference coming to Portland this fall. The Competitiveness Institute of Barcelona, Spain, has selected Portland as the site for the 2007 Global Competitiveness Conference, which is being hosted jointly by the states of Oregon, Washington, and the City of Portland. This five-day event is truly international in scope. Registrants are coming from literally around the globe -- Poland, Jamaica, Uganda, Finland, Canada, etc -- to discuss industry cluster development, rural economic development issues, sustainability, workforce, and many other topics associated with global competitiveness. Many of the world's thought leaders on these topics will be presenters and panelists, offering attendees practical, useful advice and models from their experiences dealing with these issues around the world.
