Tourism Nanaimo - Extremely helpful site to suggest activities, events, accommodations, directions etc. There is also an on-line version of the dining guide and the 2008 Visitors guide.
Nanaimo Museum - The museum is currently closed to move into their new location in the VICC. There is a description of their exhibits and information about the Cannon Firing at the Bastion at 12 noon through out the summer months.
Newcastle Island - Provincial Marine Park offering hiking, camping, picnic sites and beautiful beaches. A 10 minute ferry ride away from downtown Nanaimo.
